333 Eugenie St E

I’ve always been fond of the small brick building on the south side of Eugenie between Howard & McDougall. It’s got some nice mid-century offset brickwork on the facade, as seen in the photo above from 2007.

My favourite feature by far though, was always this big sign along the front. It looked to date to the 1960’s, possibly original to the building, this sign stood watch for the better part of the last 5 decades.

The other week when I was driving past, I noticed that the sign was long gone. They even got rid of the big electric motor from the front lawn in front of the flagpole.

Moncur Electric Motors are no more. The sign long gone, replaced by a drab standard generic sign.
