594-598 Janette

Image from SWODA

Sometimes even the humble little buildings can be interesting. I’ve long liked the building on the north east corner of Wyandotte & Janette on the edge of downtown Windsor. This shot above from 1950, shows the building still clad in its clapboard siding, and probably not looking much different from when it was built.

This building for many years, had an old sign probably from the 1970s hanging off the side. I used to always look at it when stuck at that light at Wyandotte & Janette. Over the last couple of years the sign has come down. I know I have a photo of it somewhere, but I was unable to locate it. So a quick Streetview check from 2009 shows a decent enough picture of it.
