Blue Water Dance Pavilion – Tecumseh – c. 1925

The picture above comes from regular reader and commenter Jay Thompson Ricard.

Does anyone out there have any stories about this place? It was on the corner of Lesperence & Riverside on the southeast corner. There was a fire in the early 1920’s, but the place kept going, before a fire burned it to the ground in the mid 1930’s (1935-36).

Hope everyone had a nice weekend, especially all the Dads out there…

  • So this location was on the Windsor - Tecumseh Railway (streetcar)... interesting! You can just imagine folks hopping on the streetcar for an evening of dancing. Andrew, I believe it is Lesperance and not Lesperence.

  • Glad to see some history on this area! Lesperance Rd. in general. Would love to see more pictures and history on this streetcar route and Chippewa Park on the lake!

  • My Mom often talked of dancing the night away at the pavillion. She also mentioned there was one in Belle River she would also go to
