According to the article to go with the picture, the cost of widening and resurfacing Dougall Ave was $75,000 (about $1.1 million in 2014). The highway was expanded from between the CPR tracks and the Grand Marais Drain, and widened 9 feet on either side. I remember there being two bridges in my younger years, but I don’t recall a third one. That must have been removed some time ago…

My Dearest Friends, I do not have the know how to make the link but in my Bing Map there is the map and in the Vicinity of that which to which we are referring there are the paths for the bridge that is no longer be there! And if the Labels I disable when I view the bridge that is remaining so then I do see what to my Eye Untrained looks as if to be a dividing wall! Was that which of times past was two bridges are now conjoined into a bridge that is one?
I figured so much, n the photographer is standing on the now missing bridge
Ron, I think I see what you mean. Although, I don't see all 3 tracks, Bing maps still seems to have the tracks that came out of the Zalev's yard and crossed a bit further north, closer to where Ouellette and Dougall merge. The other set of tracks was immediately north of the overpass that remains. I didn't come that way much, back then, but I do remember driving through there with my mom shortly after they were removed and thinking how different it looked. I had forgotten all about the first set, further north.
Yes, I remember 3 viaducts.
You can see them in this 1967 shot from the DTE Aerial Photo Collection.

(I have no idea if this link will work)
Great aerial Duncan... Are there more? Particularly Walkerville?
I had the DTE/WSU archive saved on a former laptop. Do you have the link to the collection? I need that back in my life.
@ Uzzy... the DTE Aerial Photo Collection can be found at http://www.clas.wayne.edu/photos/ap_index.htm
My Dearest Duncan, that is by far the photographies that Settle this matter Once and Forever! Your evidence Trumps the rest!
Thanks, JBM!
