Riverfront Follies Nightclub – c. 1973

The Riverfront Follies Nightclub at 93 Riverside Drive East, would have put this about the south west corner of Riverside and Goyeau? Anyone out there remember this place? Was this Tracey Starr’s?

  • I believe Tracy Starr's was located on the second floor of the building on the southwest corner of Ouellette and Maiden Lane. Don't know why I remember this as I was too young to even patronize the place.

  • YOu're right.... Tracy STarr's was on the second floor by maiden lane (how appropriate) ;) I believe it was the first strip joint in Windsor and they could not be completely nude.
The Riverfront Follies was an upscale burlesque/strip club that actually had very good food and catered to couples and often included them in some of the performances. (women and men)

  • Where did the date of 1973 come from? The Renaissance Center (Centre) was little more than a hole in the ground that year. The first office tower didn't open until 1976, and the whole complex didn't open until 1977.

  • Uzzy, good call on the date. I was guesstimating based on other ads. That's a good clue. Probably actually dates to 77-78 then...

  • Christopher actually the girls did go completely nude on Ouellette they didn't sell alcohol just pop and hotdogs

  • The Tracey's Star Nightclub was in an old multi-storey building at the corner of Riverside Dr. and Goyeau. It was torn down to make way for the Condo tower we see today.

Later that stripclub lic. would be handed down to the Katzman family. So, with Rob Katzman , still operating his clubs, has maintained the Tracey's Star legacy.
