Back in March, you may recall, I covered the history of the Janisse Brothers Funeral Home, that was orignally the Leo Page house.

Well guess what?

STUCCO TIME!

Big thanks to all who emailed and told me about the “update” to the building, and big thanks to JS who sent in the photo.

Wowers. I’m sure it will look extra craptabulous once it’s done.

I’ll keep you posted.

  • Geez! What is wrong with this city? Do we really want to be like every other city out there? What was wrong with the way it looked before? It had a very clean look to it. Now? A turd brown like most disgustig stucco.
Honestly, downtown needs some serious guidelines as to what should be allowed on businesses. They do it in other cities so why not ours? OUTLAW STUCCO!

  • Yikes, this place is going to look "sweet" in 5 years when it's cracked, faded and falling apart.

  • Maybe I should start a Stucco Company, it seems to be the only business that's booming in Windsor

  • Give Buildings like this 10 years, They'll look crappy and Dated by then, Hopefully this stuccoing over old buildings trend will come to an end.

  • If and when I ever return home to Windsor, I might take a second or so to wonder if I had somehow accidentally gone the wrong direction and crossed the southern border into Tijuana...

  • Hey John,
I was driving by as you were taking the picture and I thought to myself "I bet this is going to end up on IM!"

  • Isn't Anderson Funeral Home down the street stucco? I don't really mind with this one. It doesn't gawdy like some of the other stucco jobs I've seen and the brick was already painted and the architecture didn't look all that great before anyway. Now, if they stucco'd the Medical Arts building, I think that would be a real tragedy. At least, they didn't demo it and build new or move to Tecumseh and leave us with another vacant building like that vacant funeral home on Tecumseh Rd. around the Caboto Club.
