TVO invites the public and community and business leaders to share ideas on Ontario’s beleaguered manufacturing economy as The Agenda with Steve Paikin goes On the Road

TORONTO, Oct. 15 /CNW/ – If the state of the economy has been keeping you
up at night, and you have an idea or two to share about it, TVO would like to
hear from you. On Sunday, October 19, TVO’s flagship current affairs program,
The Agenda with Steve Paikin, will be in Windsor for the first leg of a highly
anticipated five-stop road tour across the province examining Ontario’s
different economies. The tour will combine social media in the form of
AgendaCamps and a live broadcast of The Agenda with Steve Paikin: On the Road
the following day. The first tour stop will focus on the manufacturing
economy.
What makes this two-day event unlike any other in broadcasting is the
unprecedented opportunity for Ontarians to participate directly in this
valuable and critical initiative through AgendaCamps. AgendaCamps are
innovative TVO-hosted community forums bringing together community leaders,
policy makers, members of the public, program guests, anchor Steve Paikin and
invited bloggers to problem-solve around the major issues and challenges
facing the unique circumstances of the economy in their region.
“We aim to bring members of the community right into the discussion,”
adds anchor and senior editor Steve Paikin. “The AgendaCamp is a powerful
opportunity and innovative way for us to engage Ontarians at the local level.
The AgendaCamp is a wonderful forum for people to share their ideas and

The first AgendaCamp will take place on Sunday, October 19 at the Art
Gallery of Windsor. A wider online audience will be able to follow and
contribute to the AgendaCamp at www.tvo.org/agendacamp. Any participant can
propose and lead a discussion – all that’s required is a passion to share your
interest and knowledge. And we also need your help creating content:
Participants will capture the event by live blogging, shooting video, taking
pictures and contributing to an interactive wiki. All the results will be
gathered at www.tvo.org/theagenda, and the best content will be used on
The Agenda with Steve Paikin: On the Road, also broadcasting from the Art
Gallery of Windsor the next day, Monday, October 20 at 8 pm.
