One of those funny things you notice around town. This house of the west side is as crooked as can be, someone added a new porch a few years back, and built it level. It always makes me smile when I drive past it.

And just when you thought vinyl siding couldn't look any worse on an older building....
Not only does it look ugly, but he didn't even put the siding on straight. He leveled the siding on the left side of the door, so it's parallel with the porch. Then, it looks live he gave up on the other side of the door and levelled it with the foundation. Or maybe he redid the left side of the door after he redid the porch, thinking it would make the rest of the building level.
Why didn't he just jack up the right side of the house and secure it with more blocks and mortar. You just jack and shim it on 10-15 different places on the left wall and keep adding shims and bricks and keep doing it till the building is level. I had a friend with the same problem and he did it himself.
Doesn't the city require building permits when people add on porches and do this kind of do-it-yourself crap? I thought this is why we have building inspectors--to avoid this kind of crap. I'm glad I don't live on that guy's street.
I wonder if he has a pool table in there...
I went to High School at J.L. Forster, graduated about 7 years ago, and that house is basically right beside the school. The best part about that house is that the guy that lives there has one leg shorter then the other, or something to that effect. We used to call him the crooked man in the crooked house. So you never know, it may be level to him. I'm pretty sure he still lives there.
There's red snow fencing around it now.. I noticed almost that entire block is boarded up.. another Maroun Project. 854 felix or so. lots of "guard dog on duty" or similar signs up.
