Located on Ouellette Ave in Windsor across from Hotel-Dieu Hospital is the vacant Medical Arts Building. It was built in 1930, designed by architect J.R. Sculland. The building has been vacant for several years, ever since the language school on the main floor closed up shop. There is some interest growing for a condo conversion project.

There are many intersting architectural features in the smooth limestone exterior of the Medical Arts Building. It is the only Historically Desginated building in the city of Windsor that was designated based on interor features (lobby).

Those new windows really take away from the character of the building. Very sad. Too bad they couldn't use something more fitting with the period of the building.
The house immediately next to it is long gone, and it's been under major interior construction for what seems like years now.
"It is the only Historically Desiginated building in the city of Windsor that was designated based on interior features (lobby)." Any pictures (recent or historic) of the lobby/interior? Any pictures of the current state of the exterior?
I saw the lobby over 10 years ago. It was impressive, but also in need of repair. I was parked in front of this building, last week and took a good long look. Looks pretty good. I didn't get any pictures, though.
