McDougall Avenue – 2005

Going through some old photographs the other day and I came across these two shots from 2005. It’s amazing how much this street has changed in the last decade. The building above is long gone, and the whole block has been redeveloped. The Goodwill and Maxim Medical buildings now occupy this site.

This building, the next block north is also long gone. There was a large fire in the front part of the building and it today it is a vacant lot.

Have a great weekend everyone, see you back here Monday.

  • Actually the Chrysler truck plant was right at the corner of McDougall and Tecumseh. I believe it was torn down in the early 1980's.

  • #Lanny. The building you mentioned was the Essex Wire Factory. It closed in the late sixties and was acquired by Chrysler. It became the Annex to the Truck Plant ( Plant One) and included the tire assembly area.An overhead conveyor crossed Mcdougall to connect the annex to the main plant.
