A few shots today that were taken last week at the Dieppe Canadian War Cemetery. This is the final resting place of a large number of Windsorites who never came home. If you’ve never been to a War cemetery in Europe, it’s hard to describe, and the pictures don’t do it justice. It’s very moving to walk through and see row after row, and especially in this case, almost all with the same date – August 19, 1942. The rest of the photos in this post I am just posting as a visual tour.

Nice shots. It's interesting to note that the dead were buried head to head, unlike any other Commonwealth War Grave site I've seen. I'm told that's the German way, and it was the Wehrmacht that interred the dead in the days following the raid. Thanks again for putting these mementos up: Lest We Forget.
