A neat photo of SW & A Amherstburg Interurban Car # 451.

This picture was taken May 5, 1938, the note on it reads that taken prior to scrapping.

This car was purchased new in 1924 from the Ottawa Car Company and ran until service on the Ameherstburg line converted to buses.

  • Although too young for the steetcars, I well remember the tracks left over, particularly along Parent near Tecumseh and at the remains of the old transfer point across from the entrance to Chrysler's (which in those days was the normal way of referring to that huge plant)on the north side of Tecumseh. I remember putting my foot down between the track and the flange - a much smaller foot than today!
