Back in November, 2010 there was this post about the City Hall.In that post there were some disagreements over the location of the City Hall.
The photo above comes from the Walkerville Times Collection that was digitized and is housed at the South Western Digital Archive at the University of Windsor.
As you can see here, the building was right at the corner of Drouillard & Riverside.

i'am trying to picture the parking lot of the church the town hall must have really been tucked in close to the church
It was very tight to Holy Rosary Church,but there was a small grassed in area between the city hall and church. There were truck bays on the back for the fire department and cells in the basement for the police. The parish took over the building and used it for a few years as an annex. We had a boys club there for a few years. The Ford canadian headquarters bldg was across Riverside Dr. and the Ford apprenticeship training building was to the east.It was a pretty busy corner back in the 50's and 60's.

The Church would have been built before. 1904 I believe.
There was an earlier French Church there even before that one.

The present church (Holy Rosary) was built in 1907, it replaced the orginal church built in 1882, it was destroyed by a fire.
My Grandfather William Ceasare Girard, was the only Fire Chief of Ford City and when the border ciies merged with Windsor in the 1930's he became the district Fire Chief of Windsor. He was then stationed at the Walkerville Fire Hall on Riohmond and Walker Rd.
He stayed there until his retirement in 1950 and died in 1951 after serving 44 years with the Fire Department.

My GG Grandfather, Francois Drouillard, owned this property at one time (Lot 99, Conc 1). His farm stretched from Riverside Drive to Tecumseh Road. He donated the land to build the church.
