Victoria Memorial Park

Happy long weekend everyone! July is fading fast, and the dog days of August will be here before you know it…

Today’s photo is one I’ve had for at least a year. I’d been meaning to get out to the cemetery and grab a modern equivalent, but it just never happened…

From the back of this photo dated March 23, 1932:

White marble memorial erected in Victoria Memorial Park, Windsor, in memory of Queen Victoria. Park is a cemetery promoted by private interests, which built the memorial with promotional funds.

As you can see, the memorial is still there, and still standing.

Enjoy the long weekend, due to the holiday, no post Monday. See you back here Wednesday August 3rd.

  • I like the gates and the monument. I find that cemetaries sometimes have some of the nicest gates and monuments around. Even the crypts can be beautiful.

  • thats a beautiful cemetary my parents and my father in law are there that monument in the photo is it out in the back near the pond?? i don't recall ever seeing it

  • gary, Heavenly rest is over on Howard, south of hwy 3. This is Victoria....but I beleive Greenlawn and Victoria have merged in the last few years. My Dad is on the Greenlawn side, closer to Walker.

  • Thanks Aaron i was thinking i was too far east it all seems like one huge graveyard out there

  • My parents, my aunt, a sister and my brother are all at Victoria Memorial Garden, which I believe is separate from but adjacent to Victoria Memorial Park.
