We looked at the Syrian Coffee Shop back in April, today’s photo is from the same series.
This one is dated February 29, 1948, the caption on the back simply reads:
The series is an interesting snapshot in time of the commerical store fronts around Windsor. The Roxy Billiards hall was located in the Douglas Building, long demolished, like the Syrian Coffee House.
Above is a layout of the old Douglas Building. 33 is the second last store front.
Above is a picture of the Douglas Building from November 12, 1927
Have a good weekend everyone, see you back here Monday.

When was that beauty leveled? Such a shame now because the cold, stale look of the typical Shopper's Drug Mart leaves much to be desired.
Sigh....just another one in a very long list.
I love in the last picture how you get a small glance of the church beside the building! So neat!
I'm curious was the barber shop a front for the pool hall and gambling parlour??
How come the first picture has a one story section of building connected to a two story building, but the last picture has a uniform building height?
