• Checked that Howard & Irvine church out on Google earth street view and now I'm doubting myself on that. It's that foundation. I wonder if that was just a temporary church and that a brick-to-roof bldg was erected on the same foundation. There is a St. Paul's on Pilette but its footprint bears nothing in common. A very interesting mystery!

• This IS a mystery! I first suspected the Howard and Irving church as well.

  My three guesses are:

  Unlikely because of the foundation....but nothing says the building wasn't put on a more modern foundation later in life....is a building next to the former St. Christopher, on Woodward and Seymoure. This little place seems to have been the original church before the congregation expanded. However back when this photo was taken, I wouldn't think there would be the same "density" out there. I doubt it's this one.

  My second guess is probably the original building to St. Barnabas, on Tecumseh rd.

  This is the back of St Paul's in Lasalle. Has the same roof pitch, stubby chimney and hich foundation as the picture.

• I wondered about the Remington Park one as well, but I think the St. Barnabus is a major contender. The proportions seem to be a better fit and if a different exterior had been on the outside it would look different as it doesn't draw the eye to the odd, high foundation.

  I also wondered about the "mission" part. To me it seems possible that this plain little building may have been a sort of outreach programme for a larger church/congregation (probably named St. Paul's), maybe another church in the diocese, perhaps not even in Windsor. Perhaps, as the congregation grew, they picked a new name for themselves, giving themselves a new identity.

  The building does look SO familiar.

  The proportions on this one are really like the old photo. If you look at it from the Malden Rd view it appears that while the chimneys are different they still are in much the same place. The foundation is different but that's cosmetic - it's still unusually high.

• i grew up on the 800 block of raymo rd and remember this place quite well this would be back in 1956 i remember my cousin and myself went into the place one day at the urging of a woman standing on the porch it scared the hell out of me

  Did they elimiate the basement?

• The white frame building at 825 Raymo Rd was the original Our Lady of Guadalope Church, in the early sixties there was no basement. The Church was replaced with present brick building in the eighties. The new church is on Wyandote St.

• No Aron this is the original lady of gaudalupe church before the big one on the corner of raymo and wyandotte was built the original photo i posted my comment on is on the 8oo block of pillette rd on the east side of the street almost directly across the street from what i think is Beauls upholstering

• Aaron i think today the building on Pillette rd has been converted to a residence thats privately owned i might be wrong there's alot of vegetation in the fron't a fur tree and bushs i think
