The other day I was down at the Municipal Archives, when I stumbled across these plans drawn up by Johnson-McWhinnie for a hotel project that never happened.

Check out the old 1964 era Travelodge logo… The plans called for the hotel to be located at 930 Ouellette Ave.

From my calculations, that would put the hotel about where the apartment building is today.

Had it been built, the manager would have had a pretty spacious suite.

Looks like it would have been another Bavarian Inn and probably torn down by now.
Blueprints really are works of art.
Also, does "elevator equipment" basically mean elevator shaft? I don't know if I'd want my bedroom there - a bit noisy?
Some day, years from now, someone may find blueprints for some sort of canal project and wonder what that was all about...
Jane - My thought was that it would be the motor and whatnot that drives the elevator... Either way, not that nice!

Actually looks like it would have been a nice mid-century design--though who knows what toll time would've taken. My folks have an old postcard of the TraveLodge they stayed in for Expo 67 in Dorval--complete with the old logo.
