  • The driver sitting in #604 kinda looks bored! Maybe he's wishing he was inside the Top Hat eating dinner and enjoying some nice lounge music. What is ironic is those menu prices on the board, ie. $3.50 smorgasboard, $4.50 prime rib steak, $5.00 lobster dinner, etc. In the not too distant future that location will be serving $6 Whopper combo meals. :(

  • Big thanks to John for scanning them. As more of his collection gets digitized, I'll be postimng them here.

Bernie is THE source on local transit history, and has an amazing collection of photos and slides.

  • Andrew would you happen to have any old photo's of Checker Cab's taken in Windsor back when they had very large cars before they made the move to Detroit ?

Those old S.W & A buses look pretty cool.

  • What the hell happened to the old house next to the Top Hat? Downtown Windsor looked pretty good back in the 1960's.

  • Do you have any photos of a 1942 International bus? Searching, no luck. Any ideas for reference? Thank you.

  • The bus in the top photo is a 1950's General Motors "old-look" bus while the bus in the bottom is a 1950's Twin Coach bus. The last GM "old look" and Twin Coach buses were retired in the early 1970's.

  • one thing about those old buses they were alot more comfortable to ride on then those cracker boxes they have to day
