Seeing as this past weekend was very nice, and my camera was crying due to neglect, I headed out with a friend to do some shooting. As we were wandering around shooting the Seminole Industrial area, we heraded over to this Streamlined Moderne beauty. John pointed out that the building is now vacant. Boy is she ever! All the machinery has been stripped out of the inside, and the hydro transformers in the rear are gone.
Hopefully, this one isn’t demolished. If it wasn’t in such as lousy area of town, it would make a great residential rehab. This building was built in the late 1940’s by Windsor architect David J. Cameron.

My favorite element is this stone carving over the front door. What a great art deco reprsentation of the Niagara Falls Hydro Generation Plant.

It was property of Enwin. I'm not sure if they've sold it or not, I'm trying to find out its status.

No! It would be a crime to tear down this jewel. Especially when one considers just how many possible re-uses there could be for it. And the building is in such good shape!
Ah, John, meet my smart-ass friend from the North. The guy lives off Grand River just north of downtown Detroit, loves guns and dog... What more can I say? :)

I've always liked this building.. neat to see pictures of it up online! As for empty stuff, one block west of it is that Seminole warehouse thing behind GM that is completely abandoned. I have a lot of nice pictures from inside it. Heck, even the GM plant East of Walker is completely empty inside as well if you look in the Windows.

However when I was there there was stuff going on, I l=peeked in teh broken windows, but too many new no trespassing signs to get in.
Hey thanks for the heads up on the substation. Yesterday got a chance to shoot 3 frames of it before it is vandalized by someone. Also was chased out of the "Seminole management " building as I was getting some shots.
