Andrew, very well done. As youngsters growing up in Riverside, on every 11/11 a group of us upon hearing bag pipes and drums would run to the curbs of Wyandotte Street East to watch the annual parade make its way east to the Riverside Recreation and Memorial Centre (aka the Riverside Arena). There a wreath would be laid at the cenotaph.
With the 2011 destruction of the arena in order to provide a charming stretch of wasteland, does anyone know the fate of that cenotaph?

Uzzy, thanks much for the link to that prior post. I too remember when the original cenotaph had the rifle, bayonet and helmet affixed to it. At least a replacement has been installed nearby. Hopefully it is used in the same manner as in the past on the 11th of November.

They should have left it at Giles and Ouellette
Gary, that was a different cenotaph that was installed far before Riverside was annexed into Windsor. Nonetheless, you make a good point. Where did the cenotaph at Giles and Ouellette go?
