Off for the first time in a long time out into Essex County… Today’s postcard features a view from the late 1970’s? I’m sure someone can date it by looking at the cars.

Seeing as this is not Windsor, it was easy enough to match up the location in the postcard to today… 😉
Seeing as this is not Windsor, You have to ask, pre or post explosion?
Those street lights are classic. Are they fluorecent? The last town I remember seeing those in oporation was in Harrow.
And unlike a lot of other places, they have put trees IN along the curb! Amazing!
I think I see the tailend of a circa ’76 Cordoba on the right hand side.

I would say late 1970’s as well. I see a copper coloured mid-70’s Grand Torino. I also recognize the Essex Farmers’ Ford dealership sign in the distance.
Yes, the street lights would be fluorescent. The harsh blue-white glow reminded you you were in small-town Ontario!
I see the parking meters along the street in the old picture. I can’t remember what year they took them out in. So I would guess it’s pre explosion. Also I think I see a tall building on the right (across Talbot from Ford). If that’s the building I think it is then this would be before the explosion because that’s the building that blew up.
Where exactly was that Ford Dealership? It looks like it was in the vicinity of A-1 Chinese Food & the Grand Tavern.
