Lodge meets Edsel. The first expressways in Detroit to cross each other. Before standardizing right lane exits, the idea was that you would exit left if you wanted to go left, and exit right if you wanted to go right, from either freeway. Seems simple, doesn’t it?
As a child, we use to leave Chicago and “summer” in Michigan. Prior to I 94, the trip would take 10+ hours. I remember being so thrilled with the big highway and being able to travel faster than the old 12/20 use to take us. This representation of this postcard was a big deal in our lives.
