I believe it has been about 5 years since the presentation of the Electric Avenue show held at AGW and hosted by Andrew et. al. Perhaps it is time to try to convince Andrew and his colleagues for an encore presentation. I’m sure that Bernie has a ton of photographs and artifacts that were not included in the previous presentation. They won’t do it without lots of support and encouragement as it is an enormous task to put on such an event… This may be a good place to display support… The previous show was very informative and educational and I am sure many did not get a chance to attend and I for one would like to revisit.

’39 would have been the last year the SW&A ran streetcars, right?
I went into the Windsor Daily stars for dates around Feb 1939, could not find the photo, but many related stories about a dispute with the City of Windsor and SW & A. Apparently SW & A was a jointly owned agency by all of the municipalities it served but was autonomous. The city was fighting plans to replace the street cars with buses and was seeking a court order to have the ownership transferred in whole to the city. They had police serving bus drivers with notice that they may be braking the law. By the end of February the case was dismissed in SW&A favour.

Does anyone else remember the old streetcar rusting away behind the Salvation Army building in Essex? (Or somewhere near there, between Talbot and Alice). I remember climbing around it as a kid.
