I've gobe back to the Wibdsor Herald, found nothing in
1855 but a new meat/fish market at Pitt/Goyeau.
The closest things I vould find were the following:
1855 - Upper Ferry House ....... Sold booze and oysters lol
1916 - Allen Fish Market. 41 Pitt east
1914 - Windsor Fish Market @ 16 Sandwich west & cor Wyandotte/Goyeau
Both addresses had the phone number 516
1915 - Ideal Fish Co. 81 Langlois, two blocks south of Wyandotte east.
These people claim to be the oldest fish market in Windsor.

It was in a news paper article. I believe 1890s if I remember correctly.
And it wasn't a building. It was open air market.

Back in the 80?s I worked here and the place was alright. About the supposed ghosts: I remember cleaning up one night upstairs and I could hear walking and glasses being moved downstairs. I went downstairs and realised I was the only one in there. Not being one for ghost stories I continued cleaning. Upstairs I heard a similar walking sound not too long after but I didn’t bother to investigate. Coworkers used to comment on hearing strange things as well.
The flag posts are still there, why aren't there flags in it? That one of the biggest things I've noticed in all of the old pictures, compared to today. The old building just looked classier with flags. They are a rare sight now, and it shouldn't be that way.

Wow, things have changed. Me and my buddies would come from across the river to drink and throw darts in the mid 80's. Had many good nights down in that basement.
