Happy New Year everyone! Welcome back post holidays to the first post of 2011. 2011 marks year number 8 for International Metropolis, but when you take into account grandfather of this site which was www.old-detroit.com (a partial version can be seen here thanks to the wayback machine.), this is really year number 10. Thanks for spending some of the last decade here, and all the best for 2011!
Now, onto today’s post…
Today we head to South Windsor, and to 3424 Victoria where we come to Albert Lothian’s 1928 house for Arthur S. Pearson.
Pearson was an executive with the Hobbs Plate Glass Company. A nice house, even if it is a little bit toned down for Lothian. I also suspect the first floor bay windows, were a later alteration.

Pearson was the commanding officer of the Essex Scottish when war was declared in 1939.
those bays do seem to detract from simple elegance of this home.
I think it's time for a look back at this one. It seems to be in the midst of a major restoration, and the bay windows are GONE! Looks so good!
