This house on Janette proves that it can. Apparently the owner of this place was worried that he was going to be left out of the stucco party, so he decided to “freshen up” this century old house just north of Wyandotte St.
My favourite part of the house is the decorative trim, it matches nicely with the black metal bars. 🙂
If you are out and about, and run across a lousy stucco job, please let me know about it. I’ve had a few photos sent in by other readers, as well as some nominations by other readers. I’ll gather everthing up, and maybe we’ll have a sutcco week sometime soon…

I realize this will make me very unpopular on your site, but I think it looks great!
you gotta be kidding?
Ha, the stucco bandit strikes again! You know I somehow had to be behind this ;)
Looks like this is converted to a duplex - stairs on left to upper level. I want to know who sells this stuff so well that so many people buy it - he/she could use their talents to help people sell their houses! What exactly is the appeal to stucco? I would think it is easily damaged, and hard to repair. It's not like it's applied over concrete or cinder block in this case, it's probably wood behind it. Doesn't seem like it will last, like an Earl Schieb $99 paint job.
This house drives me nuts everytime I look at it. The bars are especially idiotic. It's the only one with bars on the windows on that block. Some black guy with a pit bull lives there. He's trying to bring that wannabe gangsta ghetto decor from the mean streets of Detroit to Windsor. That pussy ass probably couldn't hack it in Detroit and moved down here. The street is not as bad as he tries to make it look. Over half the residents on that block are decent Chinese/Vietnamese families who respect the neighbourhood and don't try to stand out like this idiot.
In fact, someone should call the fire marshall to make sure this isn't a bedroom window he's covering with bars. All bedrooms needs a window they could exit from as an alternate in case there's a fire in the hall, as far as I heard from the Fire Code.
Well, I'm not a fan but after living on Janette and Bruce for many years all I can say is at least this guy but some money into his property. A rarity in that part of the city.... it's still ugly
Who let the California Stucco work go to houses now... I would have to agree its a better look then what most houses in that area... But come on people, you can do better then that for close to the same price, and maybe have a better look...
Snoop Davey - Fo shizzle, my Nizzlepimp. I represent the 313 sucka! Let's go back to my crib and get our swerve on!
At least the guy landscaped the front yard! I too think it is just ugly but it is better than the two burnt out hulks that have been sitting there for over a year. Wasn't there talk of "investing" in neighbourhoods by our mayor?
Driving through South-South Windsor today (near the 401 off of N. Talbot) I noticed a few houses that were built new with stucco. One had a big gouge near the garage door. Gee isn't stucco fun?
