As reported in this thread on the Detroit Yes! forum, the Back Alley Speakeasy on Griswold behind the Downtown Synagogue, is undergoing renovation with intent to reopen. It will add a destination in an otherwise quiet area north of Capitol Park. No official word on what the format will be, or a time table for its reopening, however the Forum usually has the inside track… Stay Tuned….

That’s great news…I love that little intersection there. Specifically, I would love to know if the Downtown Synagogue is still being used regularly. You wouldn’t happen to know, would you?
Ray, As far as I know it is still in regualr use.
