Stucco Contest Results

Back on November 17th, I announced the first ever International Metropolis contest.

Seeing as there was a grand total of one entry, no voting will be necessary.

John’s entry of the former Sitting Bull (currently Hot Shots), and their odd but very old stuccoization of the Tecumseh Rd. East building is the winner of the grand prize.

Congratulations John, you are new owner of a brand new shiny copy of the “Lost Windsor” 2009 Calendar.

Don’t forget that calendars are selling fast, and I’m going to have to place a second order with the printer. Order today if you want to guarantee yourself a copy for Christmas.

Don’t delay – Order today!

  • Nice! I have to wonder about the angle lines in the stucco carrying thru the windows (sort of).

Any chance of a gallery of rogues - the other submissions?

Aside from the quick fix element of stucco, any idea on how long it even lasts in Windsor's climate?

  • Too busy darn it. But the Lion's pizza place on Wyandotte E and Parent is the worst stucco job ever. It isn't smooth or anything and just looks horrible.

I can't believe they did that to that old roadhouse. At least the Sitting Bull looked decent, now it looks like a turd.

  • Yeeesh! Oh man what is up with that big yellow patch? What they do stucco over the old sign? Poor building looks like one of those old wild west saloons now *dry heaves*

  • What did this place look like before the stucco, or lacking a photo, what was it called? I've been away from the old home town a long time and The Sitting Bull doesn't mean a thing. Something about it looks vaguely familiar though. Mighta downed a few draughts there back in '70 or so.....

  • I should carry my camera with me... I wanted to enter but I didn't have time to do the proper scoping that I wanted to do! bah. Maybe I'll send you a late entry just for fun. :)
