1160 Albert Road

From the 1948 Windsor Daily Star…

The Garden Tractor and Equipment Company, Ltd., 1164 Albert road, shown above … The plant shown here is far too small for the rapidly expanding business of the company and since early last January negotiaions have been held with Ottawa in an apptempt to expand in Windsor the facilities and space of the company. Now its owners have just about decided to move to the United States because the BCI (Border Cities Industries) plant, which they hoped to get, is going to be used as a bus garage.

The building is still there today, although it looks much bigger in the old photograph above. It’s always interesting to learn the history of what appears to be a very plain and ordinary building.
