An interesting shot looking south on Howard Avenue, from the intersection with Division road. Today’s shot, once again comes from the Bernie Drouillard collection, and thanks as always to John Stefani for digitizing them for us. The tracks in the foreground of the photo is the old interurban street car line, the W.E. & L.S. railway that once ran from Windsor to Essex, Kingsville and Leamington. To the rear on the right is the old Kenilworth Race Track.

Here’s a good shot of the railway tower (long gone) as well as an old tavern to the rear (also long gone). Driving by now it’s hard to believe that anything was ever on that site.

A close up view of the race track. A couple of those pillars survived until the last few years.  I believe the pole with the white painted strip and the number ‘3’ on it signified that it was a streetcar stop.

Hard to believe this is the same spot.

Have a great weekend everyone, see you back here Monday.
