Every once in a while I come across a postcard that makes me wonder just what someone was thinking. Someone’s blurry out of focus shot of a model on a table turned into a postcard. 🙂
The caption on the back of this one reads:
- Scale Model of
“Campus of the Future”
UNIVERSITY OF WINDSOR
WINDSOR, Ontario
Interesting to note that this plan had the campus running up to Riverside and having high-rises built on Riverside Drive…

Great shot, appropriate with school starting today.
Do you have a date for this? I notice that Erie Hall , the newer part of the library and several parking lots are missing. I would guess this was done ~ 1970 +/- 2 years.
hello,
i have a question about the old Ford’s Test Track.
does anyone know the years of operation?
i see on the city’s website that it began being leased to them in 1979, but
before that?
any info would be greatly appreciated!!
interesting photo here…
Well I would have to guess pre-1970, I believe the lighter coloured buildings would be the proposed and the Law Building(middle upper right) were under construction around 1970.
As for the Ford test track it was pretty much unused since Fords stopped producing cars here in 1955, I do recall my father stating that they did have some test chasis though that they could test out the engines on in the 60s.
thanks Mike!
