So I was looking forward to tomorrow’s presentation at the Capitol.
Guess what? I got this e-mail about an hour ago:
Looking Forward Seminar Postponed
Due to uncertainties surrounding the operation of the Capitol Theatre, ticket sales have been affected. Looking Forward: Windsor’s Future in a Changing World, which was scheduled to take place at the Capitol Theatre on Thursday March 8 with speakers Diane Francis and Glen Murray, has been postponed. The event will take place at a future date convenient to the presenters later this spring.
Ticket holders should contact 311 for information on how to obtain tickets for the rescheduled event or refunds.
Sounds like Eddie’s mucking about cost him a photo-op.
I wouldn’t hold my breath on this being rescheduled.
Diane Francis though? Her newspaper company has caused Windsor so much harm over the years.
Glenn Murray is great though.
It was Mr. Murray who I was looking forward to hearing from.
I think the mayor might of thought he would get bad press when angry artists would protest as he walked in. can’t even understand why he would show his face near the capitol tomorrow.
Probably, but it seems well deserved. He certainly is doing his best to make downtown extra crappy. But what would you expect from the McMansion Mayor?
I was looking forward to seeing Diane Francis – I guess that’s the Conservative in me coming out! 🙂
In fairness to Eddie, the decision if/how to rescue the Capitol will ultimately be in the collective hands of our city council – who are accountable to the ratepayers not just the arts community. For those who are passionate about art, the Capitol might just be the most important place for Windsor to spend its money right now, but not everyone feels the same way and I wouldn’t want to be among the group at city hall who will have to walk this tightrope – no one will be happy with whatever decision is made.
