Time has run out for the burned out shell of the old Rum Runners Tavern.
The building-eaters moved in behind the death fences earlier this week…
… and quick work was made of another historic Windsor site.
Back when the fire struck, I ran this post that contained the infamous history of the place.
Like it’s former neighbor down the road, the late Bronson’s (torched by an arsonist in September 2003), Rum Runners is now just another footnote of local history, and a vacant lot in a depressed area of town.
Many a great times had at both places. back in the days when we could go somewhere a have a great time without all that glamour and glitz!!!!

i used to always go there to see a band called The Hip Mission years ago who covered the tragically hip.
I didn’t realize Windsor had any historical buildings. I always thought it was just some trashy little Canadian city where underage Americans could go drink.
Voice… I think I caught them there. I used to be a regular for Z-Rock night. I used to win all kinds of crap…

Hey Ed it became trashy after all the underage Americans decided it was a happening place for them to come over so they can drink!!!

I guess even though It’s been 8 years since I have left Windsor my heart will always belong to that small trashy city…lol
p.s sorry Ed but my husband constantly trashes Windsor so it’s an automatic defense…

ahhh poor rum runner…. I saw the United Snakes Of America and Calamity Jane there with a few other bands one night….I think I was wearing Z-Rock dog tags at the time as well heheheheh
