A detail shot from the archives of Mason & Rice, showing the front entrance on Riverside Drive today, of the Hiram Walker & Sons headquarters. It’s amazing how little this building has changed in 123 years. One of the few things in Windsor that hasn’t changed.
Hope everyone had a good weekend, sorry that I missed Monday. It wasn’t until yesterday afternoon that I realized that there was no post published.
What a spectacular expression of architectural exuberance! Layer upon layer of frivolity. The fan above the door anticipates the Egyptian fad by decades. The eye beginning at the bottom feels a horizontal urge but quickly traces upward through the fan to the glorious upper treatments. A true Windsor treasure. How fortunate you are that this still stands!
