- This weekend, February 23 & 24, will see the 18th Annual Essex Train Show take place. From 10am – 4pm both days, the show features various vendors of all kinds of model trains, collectibles, artifacts, displays and ephemera. The show has grown in recent years so be sure to come by early on Saturday to get what you’re looking for – it might get snapped up early!
A little birdy tells me that Bob Lynch will have copies of his book on the Windsor Essex and Lake Shore Rapid Railway for sale along with some other rail related books. Come on out, should be an interesting afternoon for the local rail fan.
I haven’t missed this show once in what seems like ten years or more. For a while in the late 2000’s it looked like it was petering out but the last few years have been picking up. Well worth the trip and admission price. The increased presence of N-scale items is nice too.
The essex train show largest train show in southwestern ontario as they advertize as a member of a G scale train club the large outdoor garden railroad size i was very dissapointed after driving for almost two hours to get thier on sunday to find no G scale product to be seen or purchased 32 vendors listed 21 train to rail related 11 non related to train to rail 6 listed as saturday only never see any of this advertized on the information thats 29 % saturday only they should do a better advertizing job letting people know what vendors are selling scale size and on what days also reconsider the word (largest) in 2012 i was thier on saturday concidering the snowstorm it was a good turn out i was told then some of the vendors backed out due to the weather what happened this year???? Hope you can pull up your socks for next year thanks Andy Lucio ps take a drive to woodstock in marck to see what largest train show means.
Maybe you where diapointed about the offering, next year check the web site, and contact the organizers as to what type of prodoucts will be offered. The show is always the last weekend in Febuary, same location, same hours. Maybe the lack of G guage products in this area is lack of demand, no dealer is going to carry products that don’t sell. Their seemed to be a good selection of the popular guages, the two dealers from Kingville had a large amount of stock avalable.
