Thanks for posting the photos. They show clearly that Windsor was a City On The Move back in the 40’s unlike the physically decrepit and economically bankrupt Windsor of 2008. Do we need more proof that we need to get rid of our Mayor and City Council than our dying downtown?
We should take a cue from the shorter buses in use back then. Perhaps a small fleet of them would make good fiscal sense in today’s Windsor where the buses all seem to be half full.
Fiscal sense in Windsor? It isn’t April 1st yet.

Well I would not blame our City Council on the Lack of busses. We live, eat, sleep, and do everything in an area, that relies on the Automotive Industry. With the Automotive Industry being our backbone, that basically pushes people to get cars and other such items. Being that I work in an Automotive Background job, it was partly frowned upon that I did not have my own car for a bit, and took buses for a while. As for the Downtown dying, we are no different then any other town. Look at London a few years ago, its downtown was dying and such, but the opening of new offices, and new fun filled building and events in the Downtown Core, it has brought back the city back to what it once was.

Why can’t we blame city council for not doing more to make Windsor a better place to live? How about closing the after-hours bars for a start. How about cleaning up the graffiti and trash? We let the Mayor and Council off too easy.
Seems to me the platform still looked pretty much like that in the 60’s & 70’s.
