A Night On The Town

Here are some neat old advertisements I found while looking over some mid 1960s era Newspapers. Just a brief sample of the a few of the nightclub options 40 odd years ago…

The Calcot Hotel is long gone. A google search of the address reveals an Oil Change Shop, a Porn Shop and a Car Rental Place. It was on the west side of Howard Ave. between Eugenie and McDougall. Does anyone out there remember this place?

Today the Commodore is now Jason’s. It was featured here in an old brochure.

The Embassy is still standing. It’s located at the corner of Tecumseh Rd. E. & Alexis, and is today the Little Memphis Cabaret.
