Another weekend in the books, and with today’s post, another month as well. This post wraps up November, as Wednesday’s post ushers in November. Time to get caught up on some Demolitions around town. The photo above is from Saturday morning, and the demolition along Howard Avenue, and part of the Titan Tool complex.

The old building on Howard, wasn’t an architectural gem, just an old throwback to the small scale retail of the Remington Park district. It’s hard to see, but it looks like there was some stone trim around the door.

I would guess this building dated to the 1940’s or so… Not sure what the plan is for this property.

Now we jump over to Dougall Ave. These houses are biting the dust and a sign on site advertises a future retail plaza. This is approximately, between the Sprawl-Mart Plaza and the McDonalds across the street, just south of the TD Bank. This first house for many years was home to a florists shop.

It was hard to tell by looking how many are gone, if it was three or four. A glimpse back to when Dougall was much quieter and slower than today. I’m sure when these houses were built in the 1950’s this stretch of Dougall was a pretty quiet place.

great job cleaning up that mess they must have been rentals the past few years and let them run down i guess they were worst then the houses on the west side(yeah right) politics i feel bad for the indian rd and rosedale properties
The buildings being demolished are from 3295 to 3325 Dougall. They are putting up a 2 storey building with medical and a pharmacy in it. Seems like the medical field is the only thing that keeps building.
The building that was demolished on Howard was a furniture store back in the 70’s. I can’t remember the name but I think it was Angelieri’s Fine Furniture. Maybe somebody can jog my memory

Over at Eastown Plaza the old TD bank, LCBO store building is coming down. The only blight on the site is Basics, a fresh paint job has brighted it up.
Now all they need are tenants.

luckino furniture relocated on provincial by the Monarch basic store.About 7 yrs,they
suddenly left town for no reason, stealing alot of peoples deposits on furniture they did
not recieve.They were in the windsor star at the time (2003).I lost $100 deposit.No one knows
what happened since then or no one can find the owner.The store now is a Cannon and teach n toys store.
