ICEWINE AND DESSERT A SWEET COMBINATION FOR WINDSOR
LCBO Offers a Warm Afternoon to Celebrate Winter’s Frosty Gift

WINDSOR (January 22, 2009) – Icewine, Canada’s celebrated treat, will be the focus of an upcoming
event at the LCBO Roundhouse. The famous dessert wine will be showcased with Icewine tastings,
desserts created by local chefs, Icewine bottles decorated by local artists, and a beautiful ice sculpture.

Visitors are invited to attend this free event to indulge in samples from across Ontario, including a few
of Essex County’s favourite Icewines. A grab bag will go to each guest with drink tickets, voting
ballots for the sculptures and culinary creations, information on the artists and chefs, and Icewine
brochures supplied by the Wine Council of Ontario.

After enjoying everything offered at the event, guests can buy raffle tickets for a chance to win the
uniquely designed bottles. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the John Atkinson Memorial Fund in
support of the Special Olympics.

About Icewine

Canada is the largest producer of Icewine in the world with harsh winters that provide the ideal setting
for growing grapes needed for the sweet dessert wine. The grapes are picked when temperatures drop
below -8 °C (17 °F) and because the process must take place while the grapes are frozen, the Icewine
harvest often occurs in the middle of the night. Pelee Island Winery and Hillebrand are credited with
being Canada’s first commercial Icewine producers.

Celebrate winter’s gift at the LCBO Roundhouse (3165 Howard Avenue, Windsor) “Icewine Event” on
Saturday, January 31 from noon to 4 p.m. Sample a number of Icewines, vote on the best dessert st
created by local chefs, vote on and buy raffle tickets for icewine bottles decorated by local artists.
Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the John Atkinson Memorial Fund in support of the Special
Olympics.
