As everyone knows the Tunnel Bar-B-Q property was purchased by the University of Windsor as part of their new downtown campus. The property is to be redeveloped, and a new school building will rise on its site. The other day I noticed that the street between the Tunnel Bar-B-Q and the Armouries (Freedom Way) has been closed, and the fencing is going up around the building. It won’t be long until this longtime downtown icon is gone, just like the Top Hat that was just north of the Tunnel Bar-B-Q.
