Do you know the year of the picture, it looks like 1965 or before to me from the cars, it looks like there is a private home next door
love it-great flashback...
The notation in the address of Windsor, 21 Ontario predates our present postal codes. I remember when those types of codes were added to addresses but can't remember when. Wikipedia says that the postal codes we use today were implemented between 1970 and 1974. So it seems this is from before 1970.
looks like the building next door to the right is still standing aswell... i think its a motel too. ABC or something like that
This picture is from the 1960's - remember it well.
i remember moving to south windsor in 1975 with my parents at 15 and this motel looked the same as the top picture. there was not much as far as businesses along this stretch of dougall rd. it has tripled since then.
My cousin owned the motel from 1976-1991. I worked there as a teen and it was a very busy place back in the day. The pool no longer exists as the new owners put an addition on to the building overtop of where the pool was and if you look at the photo you will notice that all the land behind it that was once vacant is now the homes in Kenilworth . The buildings beside it are ABC Motel which is still operational and the other building was at one time H. Salt Fish & Chips which was closed and Capri Pizza opened in its place.
