Here’s one that I found interesting. From the Border Cities Star, December 31, 1927:
Wreckage of Walkerville’s ancient market building is shown above. The old building at the corner of Huron street (Richmond today) and Walker road, was demolished a few weeks ago to provide a site for the town’s new fire hall, which is under construction and will likely be available for occupation some time in February. The new fire station is being erected at a cost of about $56,000 and will replace the old hall in which the Walkerville fire department has had its quarters since the early days of the town. The new hall is closer to the centre of the municipality and offers more protection than the old building, which is on the northern boundary of the town.
81 years later there’s still a Fire Hall on that corner.

I thought this was some sort of hoax, wherein you took a photo of the mess on the opposite corner and photoshopped it into an old article.
No joke, but I thought it did look strikingly similar to the opposite corner. The more things change...
