A beautiful day Saturday morning was perfect for Walkerville’s Jane’s Walk. Mita Williams, was a perfect host, and while Chris Holt and myself helped with the brainstorming, and spreading the word, really this event was Mita’s idea, and her drive is the reason it happened. Thanks Mita!

…and past the row houses, where a new resident to the area opened up her row house, and allowed the group to poke their heads inside…
… We also saw some beautiful stucco…
… and ended up in front of the last Peerless Ice Cream store. It was a great time, with a great turn out, and a nice walk through one of Windsor’s nicest historical areas. Hopefully next year we have a few more volunteers and a few more tours…

Yes - A big "Hooray!" goes out to Mita Williams! You pulled together a great Jane's Walk and had some help from Mother Nature in bringing out around 40 people to tour Walkerville! Next year, look for a little more than two days notice and more neighbourhoods to visit.

An asise: sorry: The only morning I didn't have a camera with me, what do I see...railway (trolley) tracks being dug up on Ouellette at Park! They were lying on sidewalk on the east side of Ouellette in front of the Holiday Inn, if anyone wants to go and shoot a picture.

It looked like a nice walking tour, I would have love to have made it, but my wife had to work on Saturday. We have taken these kind of walking tours in other towns and cities and always find them quite interesting.
