A little over year ago, I featured an ad from Routley’s Motel from 1954.
I just recently picked up this postcard of Routley’s from eBay.
The back of the card reads:

Nice. I like the double turrets. Would have looked better with cones on top of the turrets with a pole and Canada/US flags...
Anyone know if the facade was limestone, painted cement block or stucco?
What building is on the site today?
From memory it was a plaster/stucco finish (real stucco, not EIFS).
Today it's home to your neighbourhood Applebee's.
It was a Chinese restaurant shortly before it was torn down, correct?
I believe that this was Chan's Restaurant prior to demolition. The site is now occupied by Applebee's.
Rich - You are correct. As Edward stated it was Chan's.

As a Routley myself I love finds like this. Now I am wondering about who in our great big family is behind this little gem?
That is awesome! I remember eating there with my dad as a kid after getting some parts for my dads Plymouth Horizon at B.O.S. auto parts, I'm not sure how old I was but it was the late 80's....
