Originally St. Paul’s Church, the building became available when due to a shrinking congregation the building was put up for sale.
The building was built in 1948, and was designed by the architectural firm J.P. Thomson, who rehabbed the building and have reused it as their offices.
The firm received a built heritage award for this innovative example of adaptive reuse.
The interior has been stripped down to its shell, and completely adapted to its new use.
A view of the lobby.
The upper area, which was originally the Priest’s residence has been converted into a large conference room, with a view overlooking the office. They also have a shower upstairs for the use of employees who bike to work. It’s refreshing to see that.
It’s a great example of thinking outside of the box, and reusing structures that we have, rather then tearing them down and sending them to the landfill.
Don’t forget Doors Open on the 28th, J.P. Thomson and 22 other of Windsor’s Heritage Buildings open up for free tours.

It sure is a great reuse adaption. Where is this located?
Also for available for Door's Open is Assumption Church. Please come by and get a tour of this magnificent church and the history of the parish (oldest parish west of Montreal) and see why the Diocese of London wants to abandon this one as well.
Great to see this tour posted today, as my Mom and Stepfather celebrate their 26th wedding anniversary, and this is where they got married. How ironic. Thanks for making my day.
Wouldn't it be great if the church on Dominion near Grand Marais could have a future like this. Probably too late.
Finally, a group of professionals that appreciate spending the extra coin on taking shop in a classic building instead of going cheap and moving into one of those cheap, plain and uninspiring glass buildings in downtown lke the Chrysler building.
Sweet, the Masonic temple and the Windsor Club are on the doors open list. I always wanted to check those two out.
Too bad the Medical Arts building isn't on the Door's Open list. I guess it'll still be unsafe to walkthrough up to the 28th. It would give them a great opportunity to advertise for a condo pre-sale to raise capital for renovations if they did, to a group that's composed of people more like to buy this style of condo (hint...)
My parents were married at St. Paul' on June 3 1950.
ME - this church is located on ouellette between hanna and shepard. you can also access it be pelissier, which is probly easier.
This is great to see! I hope we can see more of it.
I like the fact that they decided to leave the cross on the roof apex!!! I am sure their business is 'blessed'!
