Men’s High Jump
Women’s 100m Hurdles.
Congratulations to Priscilla Lopes-Schliep who won and qualified for the games… She’s off to Beijing to represent Canada. She demolished the field she ran against in Windsor on Saturday afternoon.
However, out of all the events at the meet, I think my favourite to shoot was the Women’s Pole Vault. These ladies are all amazing athletes, and skill and power it must take to be good at the pole vault is simply mind blowing… Where I was able to figure out who was who, I’ve put in their names…

Kelsie Hendry arguably Canada’s best female Pole Vaulter.
Another of our athletes headed to Beijing to represent Canada. Hendry vaulted well over 4.3 meters in Windsor, hopefully she’ll be able to bring home a medal for Canada next month.
A big thank you goes out to the staff and volunteers at the University who made the event the success it was. Coach Dennis Fairall and Dennis Snyder were the co-chairs of the organizing committee, and they did a great job.
Also a big thank you to all the athletes who came down and participated. They certainly put on an entertaining show.

Yes, there were men competing too... :)
I came and went from the event several times over the weekend, and when I showed up, it was usually the women's events that were happening.I took many shots of the men's events too, but the pictures I posted over the last few days were the best (IMO) of the ones I shot. It also seemed to me that the men's events attracted larger crowds, and it was easier to get a prime shooting spot at the women's events. Maybe I'm just doing my part in giving coverage to some of the events that seemed more neglected by most of the media. :)
With that being said, the women's pole vault was awesome. The women competing were all great athletes, and the skill involved in the event was something to see...
