444 Park Street West

One of the more unique Apartment Buildings found in the City of Windsor.

This mid 1920’s era building is built in the Spanish Mission Style, with the trademark curved gables and red tile roof. In fact if it wasn’t for the roof, you could almost argue that they are Flemish style gables.

I’m not sure what kind of tenant the building attracts today, but it must have been quite a beauty when it first opened.

  • My parents managed that building in the mid-70s to mid-80s. The apartments are really small and therefore affordable. I was in there last year and nothing had been done to upgrade since my parents left. The kitchen is a closet that is so small there is no room for a fridge and it sits in the main room. The only improvement I could see is the security door at the front,

  • I lived in a basement apartment in this place in 1998. The owner was Gabriel (last name escapes me, something Italian). It was a terrible place to live. The onsite super never answered his door. There was a terrible smell emanating from one of the apartments and I thought maybe it was the old lady down the hall. It turns out it was the refrigerator in the vacant apartment that had rotting meat in it!
The kitchen was literally a closet, only wide enough for the stove and the cupboards didn't fit my dishes. The bathroom window had rotting wood with pillbug poo coming out every time I took a shower.
    Awful place.

  • KellyB. It is now full of crackheads and dope dealers. Why the police dont' case that building is beyond me? I believe most of the crack in the surrounding area comes from that one building. I have informed thepolice about that but nothing in 6 years has been done...go figure.

  • my son and his wife lived there about 10 years ago very small apartments not very secure my son had to walk my daughterin law to the bus stop everyday because the bums at the salvation army on church street would bother her alot of dope in there and alot of dopes live there

  • Dave, I'm guessing that when I lived there it was full of crackheads and dope dealers. I lived there all of four months and got the heck out!

  • the building is being renovated and security cameras have been put in place, i heard the new owners are passionate about changing the romuours of the building hope is true, suxh a beautiful landmark of windsor
