Late of the archives of the F.H.A. is this home designed and built in 1939.
Located on lot 271 on State Fair Ave. E., I’m not sure how to go about cross referencing lot numbers to street addresses. So I’m not sure if this one is still around or not.
Designed by architect Charles F. Graulich in 1939. A search of my books lists no entry for Graulich. Anyone know anything about this Detroit based architect?
A deliniation of the front elevation. I love blueprints, I could spend hours pouring over all the details in them.
A floor plan of the ground floor.
The architect Charles F. Graulich, was my grandfather! I just happened on your page when on a whim I googled his name! He worked out of his home in detroit and later moved to Roseville.
3625 Meadow Grove Trail. I agree. He was known as Carl. His son, same name, went by Charlie and died today May 4th at age 96. His grandson,CFG the third, my husband, died in March of 1974. He was known to his family as Rick (from the F–Fredrick) and later to his friends as Chuck. As Andrea said, he designed many homes in the greater Detroit area and also in Macomb County. I think he may have designed the Hillcrest Country Club in Mt Clemens or thereabouts. Wiki says the property became a Meijers store sometime around 2005.
