Now my question is why? What made it easier to buy paint to paint over the signs, than to simply take the signs down?

I think it’s because the sign is covering another two signs that no one got around to painting over when they were no longer of us. So rather than taking three signs down, they just painted over the one on top, saving taxpayers $35. Just call City Hall, they’ll tell you the same thing…
