On Wyandotte St. in Walkerville, you will find one of the most ambitious adaptive reuse projects in Windsor.
The building is a former whiskey warehouse for Hiram Walker, it was built in 1950 by Smith, Hinchman & Grylls and is basically a brick box, with massive two story floors.
There are still some vacant warehouses in the same area, this is how this building looked prior to the conversion.
The $15 million CDN project is proceding without a single pre-sale. When complete there will be 69 two story lofts in the building.
The building was stripped down to the concrete floors and supporting columns.
You can see in the photo above a roughed in two floor unit. The building will feature a rooftop garden, and there are 4 different floor plans between 1,800 to 2,600 sq. ft.
This is truly a unique devolpment in Windsor, and will hopefully be a sucess.
Do you have any furhter information on these units? Pricing? floor plans? estimated completion? I live nearby and one of these units would be perfect.
Hi Jay, from what I hear prices will range from $161,000 – $309,500. The project is scheduled for completion by December 2006, the two-storey lofts range in size from 1,500 to 2,600 square feet.
As for actual floor plans, they had some on display during the open house, but there was no take home information available.
Thanks, Do you know who the developing company is?
Contact info? or a website?
This is all the info I have:
The project is being built by Arcas & financed by Sila Investments.
I don’t have a website or contact info. Try googling, or looking up the company in the phone book
Hey — the Web site is now up, and so is the sales office.
http://www.clublofts.com
floorplans and prices
is the sales office located right at the building
I believe so.
I didn’t see anything when i drove by today, are you sure
No, but when they had the open house, there was a little office inside the lobby, it’s on the side street, not on Wyandotte.
Sales office is down walker, just north of Ottawa street. So much for a dec 06 completion I don’t see it finnishing for this dec either.
